- SATGOLF, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, anticipates extreme weather events and optimises water management through artificial intelligence and state-of-the-art sensors.
- The €150,000 subsidised investment strengthens Arabella Golf Mallorca’s leadership in sustainable tourism and digital innovation, fully aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Arabella Golf Mallorca has strengthened its international position as a benchmark in sustainable tourism with the launch of SATGOLF, a pioneering early warning system designed to anticipate extreme weather events, enhance water efficiency and raise safety standards across its facilities. This technological solution, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, involves a €150,000 subsidised investment and is part of the group’s ongoing commitment to building a more resilient, intelligent and environmentally respectful tourism model.
SATGOLF harnesses artificial intelligence, environmental sensors and hyperlocal climate data to monitor, in real time, key variables such as heavy rainfall, strong winds, lightning, soil humidity and compaction. This predictive capacity enables precise irrigation management and more effective decision-making in the face of adverse conditions.
“SATGOLF reinforces Arabella Golf Mallorca’s role as a model of sustainable and innovative tourism. Beyond optimising resources, it creates public value in a context of climate change and water stress,” says Francisco Gavira, Head Greenkeeper at Arabella Golf Mallorca.
The system also integrates intelligent cameras capable of detecting unauthorised access or risky behaviour, connecting climate, environmental and human factors within a single management ecosystem.
This initiative is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), climate action (SDG 13) and sustainable communities (SDG 11). It represents a concrete example of how the tourism sector can actively contribute to global challenges through applied technology and a strong environmental commitment.
SATGOLF is part of Arabella Golf Mallorca’s Green Evolution programme, which promotes sustainable practices in energy consumption, environmental protection and responsible resource use. The resort also holds prestigious international certifications including ISO 14001, EMAS and GEO Certified®, consolidating its leadership in environmental management within the European golf industry.
With SATGOLF, Arabella Golf Mallorca takes a decisive step towards an intelligent sustainability model that goes beyond golf and contributes actively to the transformation of international tourism.
